ARTIST AND ENTREPRENEUR: MS GINETTE MALOUIN
Ms. Malouin was born in Montreal in 1952 and presently lives in Vaudreuil sur le Lac. She is an enthusiastic person, animated and spirited by her passion for the arts, and the artists.
After completing her DEC in Art at the C.G.E.P. de Valleyfield, painting became a hobby for her. Many years later she decided to resume her painting and become an artist on a full time basis. She has taught painting and created her own art courses based on the creative process. In 2007, her work was exposed in a variety of symposiums, group expositions and in solo showing in the Montreal area. She is now devoted to the art profession and is owner and the soul of her studio: Galerie O’Carré.
Ms. Malouin refers to one of her favourite quotes that corresponds appropriately to her personality and aspirations: “Life in itself is an empty canvas; it becomes whatever you paint upon it. You can paint misery; you can paint the joy. This freedom is your splendour.” ~ Hosho
Now, in the autumn of her life, she chooses to paint. She chooses to paint the joy and to extinguish the fear and misery. She has finally discovered the true artist in her soul, her personality, and her desires.
Ms. Malouin feels that the purpose of her life is to carry out her artistic dreams. She lives life to the fullest. She takes great pride and pleasure in managing her art studio, Galerie O'Carré and thoroughly enjoys the company of her artists. But it is through her paintings that she feels most alive. Expressing her folly, craziness and imagination by playing with color and form; this is her therapy. She enters into her bubble of peace and delight – her canvas becomes a reflection of concealed emotion, images, memories, and dreams from where she does not know. She only discovers them as she paints.
Painting makes her feel as though she actually participates in the creation of life itself and she finds this to be so enriching and rewarding. As so well put by Henry Miller, Ms Malouin refers to another famous quote: “We are all part of creation, all kings, all poets, all musicians; we have only to open up, only to discover what is already there”.
